Intention is closely bound to another constant emphasis in Hebrews: perseverance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;So let&#8217;s keep at it and eventually arrive at the place of rest, not drop out through some sort of disobedience.&#8221; (Hebrews 4.11)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a main theme of Hebrews:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Stay with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/drbobewell.com\/?p=7821\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Israelites didn&#8217;t<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/drbobewell.com\/?p=7857\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Southern Kingdom of Judah didn&#8217;t<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The church at <a href=\"https:\/\/drbobewell.com\/?p=4944\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ephesus<\/a> didn&#8217;t.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. (Revelation 2.4, 5, ESV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Let&#8217;s not let it slip through our fingers.&#8221;(Hebrews 4.14, MSG)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Until the end&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
