Moses is continuing to recount his time on Mt Sinai (40 days and nights twice) and his receiving the 10 Commandments, written in stone by God (twice). (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Deuteronomy+10%3A1+-+11&amp;version=ESV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Deuteronomy 10.1 &#8211; 11<\/a>) Moses is God&#8217;s man. Fully devoted to hearing from God and doing God&#8217;s work in the world. And what is the <em>So what<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD, which I am commanding you today for your good? (Deuteronomy 10.12 &#8211; 13, ESV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What does the LORD require of YOU?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fear the LORD your God<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walk in all his ways<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Love him<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, the expectations for the people of God are the same as for their leader! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re a regular reader of The Ewellogy, you know I like to watch sports. When the Broncos or Clemson win, for example, &#8220;We win!&#8221; Uh, no. &#8220;We&#8221; don&#8217;t. I wasn&#8217;t out there. It requires no training or discipline to be a fan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think we are tempted to treat our walk with God the same way. We like to watch our heroes: the pastors, the missionaries. We can even support them by coming out to hear them preach or sending them money. We admire their dedication. But God calls us ALL to the same level of dedication. Christianity is not a spectator sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>And he said to all, \u201cIf anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.&#8221; (Luke 9.23, ESV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was struck by two verses in Deuteronomy 10.
