We wrote a couple of days ago about the resurrection of Lazarus and resulting belief\/unbelief<\/a> of the people and the leaders. The theme continues in John 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So Jesus said to them, \u201cThe light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.\u201d (John 12.35, 36, ESV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBelieve in the light that you may become sons of light.\u201d But they didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him, so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: \u201cLord, who has believed what he heard from us, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?\u201d Therefore they could not believe. For again Isaiah said, \u201cHe has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and turn, and I would heal them.\u201d (John 12.37 – 40, ESV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s all about believing. Some do. Some don\u2019t. If you and I do believe, thank God for that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2.8, ESV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
