{"id":4684,"date":"2022-05-28T17:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-28T23:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drbobewell.com\/?p=4684"},"modified":"2022-05-27T17:07:22","modified_gmt":"2022-05-27T23:07:22","slug":"gods-kindness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/drbobewell.com\/?p=4684","title":{"rendered":"God&#8217;s Kindness"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the heels of the <a href=\"https:\/\/drbobewell.com\/?p=4682\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sins of Romans 1<\/a>, we have this promise opening Romans 2:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God\u2019s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? (Romans 2.4, ESV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;God&#8217;s <em>kindness <\/em>is meant to lead you to <em>repentance<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>God&#8217;s KINDNESS&#8230; Maybe, if we&#8217;re trying to lead people to repentance, we should try kindness instead of yelling at them. Maybe we should tell them God loves them. Maybe we should be leading the way in kindness and temperance if we insist on posting our opinions on social media, which I&#8217;m not sure is a great idea no matter how we do it!<\/li><li>God&#8217;s kindness is meant to lead you to REPENTANCE. God&#8217;s love is not a mushy sort of love. It&#8217;s a love that says, &#8220;I love you just the way you are, but there&#8217;s no reason for you to stay that way.&#8221; Paul calls for repentance in no uncertain terms:<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God\u2019s righteous judgment will be revealed. (Romans 2.5, ESV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus calls for repentance too, also with love:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
