{"id":2882,"date":"2021-01-03T17:30:00","date_gmt":"2021-01-04T00:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drbobewell.com\/?p=2882"},"modified":"2020-12-31T12:35:24","modified_gmt":"2020-12-31T19:35:24","slug":"preparing-for-2021-part-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/drbobewell.com\/?p=2882","title":{"rendered":"Preparing for 2021 &#8211; Part 2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/drbobewell.com\/?p=2880\">Yesterday<\/a> I introduced \u201cPreparing for 2021\u201d by Larry Warner, in which he challenged us to formulate specific prayers for the World, the Country, the world-wide Church, our community, our local church, our family, and our life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then he asks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>What themes do you see emerging in these prayers?<\/em><\/li><li><em>How do these prayers\/themes align with the greater themes of God\u2019s Kingdom coming, God\u2019s will be done on earth as it is in heaven?<\/em><\/li><li><em>What alignment is there with your prayers\/themes with God\u2019s heart for justice and concern for the poor, prisoners, the blind, the oppressed, widows and orphans?<\/em><\/li><li><em>What is one area of injustice that you sense God inviting you to focus your attention on in 2021?&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Finally, he calls us to action:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>In what ways will you seek to partner with God in answering these prayers?<\/em><\/li><li><em>What might that look like in terms of the use of your time, your material resources, your level of influence, your social media presence?<\/em><\/li><li><em>Who is already involved in some of those issues\/themes that emerged in your prayers that you can support, learn from, partner with?<\/em>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I love his closing sentence &#8211; one that encourages us to <a href=\"https:\/\/drbobewell.com\/?p=2873\">pursue God first<\/a>, and from that relationship will come the power for carrying out these prayers and actions:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>May your knowledge of God&#8217;s love for you and presence with you\/within you continue to deepen and expand in 2021 and be the fuel that powers your life\u2014your love for God and others.\u00a0<\/em>&#8211; Larry Warner<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It reminds me of Paul\u2019s word to the Thessalonians:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.
